Summer Movies

Is the time of the year again, SUMMER! I love Summers! Its because Summer has all the big blockbuster movies. This year will be a great Summer Marathon for Movies! I started off with watching Ice Kacang Puppy Love and Kick Ass. OK, I know Ice Kacang Puppy Love can't consider as a blockbuster movie but is a local production and it's really good, so need to give some support also. I mean, Summer does has a feeling of L.O.V.E so it should be included in my this year's Summer Movies list.

 Ice Kacang Puppy Love 初恋红豆冰

This movie is shoot locally in Penang and is directed by AhNiu 阿牛 陈庆祥 which is his childhood memory of himself in Penang. AhNiu had some Mega Malaysian Superstars to participate in this movie. The Best Actress Award Winning Lee Xin Jie, famous Superstars Singers like Fish Leong, Gary Chaw, Victor Wong, Nicolas Teo, and Penny Tai. There is also the not forgotten superstar like Angela Chan Mei Ngor and Eric Moo. I was shocked and amazed when I saw them on screen.

The movie is based during the 80's in just a small town where everyone knows everyone. Where kids just have simple yet fun games to play with like playing just marbles and fighting fish and where adults hang out at Kopitiam and gossips and so on. It brings up a lot of childhood memories cos nowadays kids toys are PSP, hand phones, laptops and a lot of technology gadgets their parents could afford for them. Life is not as simple as it used to be anymore. As what the movie is named as, it includes a lot of L.O.V.E such as Puppy Love, Parental Love, Admirer Love and Friendship Love. I teared when I watch the ending. It's those kind of bitter sweet love story ending so, be sure to bring along your hankie. There is also some funny moments in the movie, be sure not to choke yourself. I won't mention about the synopsis of the movie cos you probably already know or had already search for it and I don't want to ruin the movie for you. You have to watch it yourself! 

Other than the mega cast of superstar, the movie is directed beautifully and perfectly with all the olden shop lots, houses and coffee shops and how the story was told is really really really beautiful, its a piece of art work. Thumbs up for AhNiu!  

 Kick Ass

Kick Ass is actually based on a comic book written by Mark Millar & John Romita Jr. It is directed by Matthew Vaughn who gave us StarDust in 2007.  It's definitely not a parody movie but the name of the movie does gave me such a though when I first heard it. With Nicolas Cage staring, it won't go wrong, that's one of the reasons I went to watch this movie.

The story is about a teenager that wants to be a hero but fail stupidly after he meet Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage) and Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz). Hmm...I don't know why Big Daddy's costume looks like Batman, it's one of the funny part for me. Hit Girl is the one that kick the most ass! I'm very impress of her character and I like her purple wig costume.

Well, every comic needs to have at least one villein, in Kick Ass the main bad guy is Frank D'Amico (Mark Strong) who is a drug leader of a local crime and his son who later became Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). The movie is quite violent especially Hit Girl cos she's just a kid but she could kick ass and play with weapons! She is not your typical 11 year old girl who likes dolls and dress up. But I like her so much! *claps* Well, you'll know how the story goes. It does have a tiny bit feeling of Spiderman's plot, just a tiny bit. But it does have more action than Spiderman (not those kind of action), I meant REAL action, a lot of shooting, bombing and explosion kind of action. The ending of the movie is not predictable with of course a bit of twist that you may think there will be a Kick Ass Part 2. Overall, it is a good movie. 

Till then my next Summer Movie Marathon will be Ironman 2 and Ipman 2. Both very anticipated movies, just hope there will not be disappointment. 

My NARS Affair

Ever sunk your hands on NARS before? The very first time I sunk my hands on it, I have an addiction for it. I remember it was when I went for my Hong Kong trip. I wanted to get myself a nude lip liner pencil and I wanted to try NARS because it's review is very good. I search high and low for it in Hong Kong and I come across Sephora and I know that Sephora do carry NARS. I pop into the shop, search for NARS and try on the color and fell in ♥ with it! I just took the lip liner pencil and just went straight to the cashier and pay. Talking about impulsive shopping... there was no thinking at all, just try, take and pay!

After using the lip liner pencil for sometime, I just can't stop thinking of purchasing or trying out other NARS products. I begin with my search. Reading reviews on top picks products that other people bought. Watch YouTube videos on people using NARS products. I was so obsess with IT~~~!!! Then, X'mas was coming. (I know is quite sometime now) I thought WTH, why not splurge myself some X'mas gift! *grinning evilly* As you should know, NARS is pricey but in the end it just worth every cents of your money. Trust me! So, I went online to choose the perfect X'mas gift for myself. Obviously there wasn't any NARS or Sephora in Malaysia and the nearest place I could get NARS is in HONG KONG!!!! Not even in Singapore! And so you think you can purchase it online, think again!!! NARS doesn't ship internationally!!!!! WTF to the max!!!!  Luckily, I found a guy online that helps helpless gals in such hopeless situation. I pick my orders and was also lucky enough to found NARS having 30% discount! Told you it worth your money! Of course, it does need my patients too. The orders need to wait about 3 weeks time. Everyday, I feel so excited that I finally could own and use more NARS products. Days gone by and every single day that comes closer to the date that my orders will arrive at my doorstep just make me feel so anxious and anticipated. There was a downside though, my purchases couldn't arrive in time for X'mas. I couldn't wear them for any X'mas celebrations. *bummer*

Finally! 3 weeks had gone and the postman arrive at my door and handed me my package. I teared off the envelop quickly and stare at the items I purchased. I'm not exaggerating but really, if you own NARS, you know that kind of feeling - at least for me it feels like that.

From what you can see, I already done some damages to my wallet. Anyhow, every items are very very very worth it! I bought the lip glosses in a set cos there are all so pretty and I couldn't make up my mind to which I should buy. And I found this set and all of them are NARS signature lip glosses in 1 packaging and tell myself WTH! The eyeshadow is very glitter and pigmented. It is glittery in a way that only when light is shine on it, cos you wouldn't want to have a big patch of glitters in your eyes, right? I also ♥ how NARS names each of the products, very sexy, naughty and seductive. Make you feel like a sexy person inside. (I wish I am deep down but who's not?!) The lip glosses are named (from left) Turkish Delight, Striptease, Orgasm, Dolce Vita and Greek Holiday. There are all high-shine colored, smooth, long lasting and moisturize. I have not stop wearing them ever since I bought them that I almost forgot I have other brands of lip glosses to use.  ♥♥♥

Alicia's Birthday + StupidGang Gathering

It's also yet another StupidGang gathering to celebrate Alicia's birthday (1 day before). It's just a simple yet happy StupidGang gathering. Although the place that we celebrate in is not any fancy restaurant or special food place but it's special for us because it's for Alicia. Guess where we went? I bet you can't guess it in a million years! It's at Food Garden@The Gardens.

I never eat at Food Garden before, just always pass by and eat at Sushi Zanmai just 2 shops next to it. Well, at first we wanted to eat at Sushi Zanmai but the queue is freaking long! I don't blame them though cos it was a weekend AND during dinner hours. Everyone is damn HUNGRY! So, we decided to skip the queue and go for Food Garden, which is not a lot of people and the food review for some stalls are not bad too from a few StupidGang members. It's not a lot of people so we could have our own sweet time to catch up and LOL so that we won't disturb other people around us. Believe me, we do scared people with our laughter. Of course, there's another reason too, we need to wait for Ken to show up cos he's work got off during dinner hour too. He's so 'Big Face' need bday gal to wait for his arrival :P

Everyone was hungry and some not very hungry but we still went to order our food before the 'Big Star' arrive. Surprisingly(to me), there are a lot of choices of food to chose from.

3.) Make a wish (I know you wish you want more $$$ right? LOL)

4.) Cut the cake. - FYI, there wasn't any knife available, so it's replace by using the back of the one and only big spoon we got

Sweet Treat Weekend

How was your weekend? Mine is just nice. Gave my sweet tooth a treat at my one and only favorite pancake shop - Paddington House of Pancakes

 Paddington House of Pancakes@The Gardens

 The interior design of the restaurant is very cosy and home-feeling. With simple yet vintage kinda look of lightings, brown and brown leather matching furniture, most of all, mirrors all over the place! If you first glance at the restaurant, you'll see the place is pack, good strategy right? :P Not to say they don't have customers, it just make more people wanna dine in. They have a lot of art pieces hanging around the place too... I like the one with Eiffel Tower in Paris during the 20's or 30's. I can't take a picture of it cos a lot of people walking around, maybe next time and with me in it, LOL!

 It was a tea time break, so me and my mom didn't order heavy food. Oh! Just in case you don't know Paddington House of Pancakes DOES NOT only serve pancakes! Pastas, lasagna,  steak, Pancake Burger, Galletes for main courses. You can't imagine pancake as main course with meat right? Me too during my first visit. But guess what? There's more like their unique salad pancakes, Pannekoek Pies, Blinis, famous Dollar Pancakes and more wicked names or pancakes combination you can think of. They all taste awesome! Enough said, it's time for my tea time break.
