DIY Liese Bubble Hair Dye for the First Time

Hey all, I'm well and alive just in case you all are wondering. I don't want to blog about my MIA period yet. So for now, just wanna blog about my first time experience with Liese Bubble Hair Dye.

I'm sure all of you are well known about Liese Bubble Hair Dye by now. So I won't go into details. Though it is true that it's easy to use as learning ABC. You know the trail.

This was my before wear out coloured hair that I'm very beh tahan of. My short hair has grown out too. Wanna keep it longer this time around.

As you can see my roots are growing out and I have like 3 shades of colour on my head.

This is what you get inside of the packaging. The colour I chose was Elegant Ash. Feel like going for very dark colour this time.
From left to right, the box, chemical colouring #1, chemical colouring #2 of which you need to mixed it before using. Pump for creating the bubble effect. Conditional treatment for after colouring and a pair of gloves.

New hair colour! The colour did not came out as dark as I wanted but it's better than the before look. Probably because I still have my previous mocha wear out colour. The results is satisfying.
This was the colour a day after. There's the ash colour element in it which I really like.
This is a week later. The colour reflects differently under different lighting. This is from natural sunlight. If you noticed the bottom part of my hair is a different shade. It IS the exact colour of Elegant Ash. I guess that my bleach hair still works it's magic of bringing out the exact colour. Love it!
This is from very low light. It can go pretty dark if it's indoor.

The above two pictures are indoors with better lighting. Pretty cool, right?

It's not bad being my first time dying my own hair. I usually help my bro to dye his. Hope the colour could stay on longer, this we have to see. Till then see ya for now.

DHC Eyelash Tonic

Just a short and quick post for this month. It has been a crazy month! Anyways, I just want to share with you something that most of us will probably neglect taking care of.

Our EYELASH!
Yes, feeling guilty already? In our daily cleansing routine, we take care of our face and body but always always forget to take care of our eyelashes.  PS: I don't have nice eyes so the picture above will do. Credit and thanks for having such beautiful eyes.

Do you know that it takes 7 to 8 weeks just to grow back an eyelash?! Sometimes they don't even grow back? If you pull it too constant!

Our eyelash not only to brighten our eyes and making our eyes look bigger. In fact, our eyelash plays an important role. Our eyelash helps protects our eyes from debris and it also gives out warning when an object is very near to our eyes.

So how do you protect them? I used DHC Eyelash Tonic. It works likes a conditional for our eyelash. It helps strengthen our eyelash, so that they don't easily fall out. When your eyelashes are stronger, they will be prone to breakage. Cool?!
The tonic is in a clear gel form. It has smaller brush compare to mascara brush for easier application. You used it like how you apply your mascara.
The tonic consists of Aloe Vera, Watercress and Comfrey that gives full moisture to our eyelash for better elasticity.

So when do you use it? You can use as a mascara base before you apply your mascara. Or you can used it as a bedtime treatment. I usually used it as a night treatment.

Now, you have to remember to take care of your eyelash! Nitez!

Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense

Ever since I have tried the first bottle of Redken hair serum, I have been religiously using it from then. Until last year I found out my trusty Redken Smooth Down Heat Glide Serum has been discontinue! WHY?!
Smooth Down Heat Glide Serum
I search high and low for a replacement hair serum and found this new Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense. It is an eye opener for me and I knew again I have found a better product from Redken! Thank you =)

The Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense is a Silicone free and oil based natural hair oil. The natural oil contains olive, jojoba, coconut and sunflower seed oils. Making it naturally fragrant and pleasant to smell. The Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense helps coarse and distressed hair. It also gives hair triple times stronger and double more shine.

The best of it is that it could protect your hair from damages because it could seals, coats and smooth the hair cuticle to boost shine.

The design of the bottle is so elegant and classy. At first glance it looks like a perfume bottle. It's a bit heavy for a hair serum but it's solid. I have bring it for trips and it did not crack or break.
Unlike other hair serum usually the bottle has a pump to retrieve the serum, the Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense has a dropper. It makes you feel like a chemist happily playing with your chemicals when you apply the oil on your hair. Or maybe is just me?
I have grown out my hair last year but a lot of damages has been done to it. I have bleach, dyed (several times) and perm my hair. My hair literally feels like hay :S that's pretty bad. That is why I chose Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense instead of Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine. Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine is the same range with the Intense but it's more suitable for normal and fine hair type.
See, long dry hay hair
Close up of my hay
I think I probably have a lot of split ends too, just that you can't really see them close enough through these pictures.

I have been using this amazing hair oil for half a year now (still using the first bottle because it only takes two to three drops daily) and my hair looks so healthy and shine even with the normal damage dyed (once), blow drying and brushing.
Well, I did chopped of my long locks but with the daily friction I did to my hair, it still looks so good.
These short hair were taken during this Chinese New Year. I'm so happy using it. By the way, that's my baby niece and she's just faking her tears to look for her mom. Nope, I did not bully her.
Even before I cut my hair short, my hair was so much better after using this hair oil. No more frizz or dry hay feeling. Much smoother when brushing or styling my hair too.

Other than the improvement you can see on my hair. This awesome hair oil has multiple usage and benefits. Tips: if you skin is dry, try using a few drops of the hair oil on your skin and it could moisturize your skin immediately.

If you like to know how you can maximize the usage of this hair oil, check out this official video from Redken.

If you are lazy to watch the video, here's how you can use the hair oil.

  • You can use it before you shampoo.
  • Use it as an overnight treatment.
  • Mix it into your conditioner or hair mask and rinse thoroughly after 10-15 minutes.
  • Use it as a pre-blow dry treatment.
  • Or just use it on dry hair.

I usually use it after I have wash my hair and as an overnight treatment. I really love it as much as I love the Smooth Down Serum, *ahem* maybe even more.

Eating Clean

I want to wish everyone an advance Happy Chinese New Year! Drive safe when traveling home.

OK, I'm sure by now you have heard of eating clean. I wasn't aware of it until last month, reading it in a magazine while having my hair cut short. After reading it I have made eating clean as one of my new year's resolutions.

Basically eating clean is laying off processed foods and eating healthier. It's not a diet, it's a health practice. People has always believe in diet to lose weight but it is always just a temporary solution. Once the diet has stop and you are out of control, resume your pre-non-diet routine/eating habits, you end up gaining weight again. Thus, the vicious cycles starts all over again. I realize that in order to lose weight the healthier way is to change your eating habits. Of course, exercising is also one of the option but most of the time what we eat, ends up reflecting in our body, mind and soul.

These are just basics of eating clean.
Eat whole foods
Avoid processed foods
Eliminate refined sugar
Eat five or six small meals a day
Cook your own meals
Combine protein with carbs

I don't want to bore you with the details of the basics but you get the picture, right? You can learn more here (I find it a bit funny that this topic has it's own For Dummies and Cheat Sheet) and here. You can Google your research yourself too :)

Here's my current eating habits and working on eating clean.

Avoid fast food - I used to have Mc D on a weekly basis but I have cut down to not even once a month. I only eat when I really have no choice for outside food. This habit I have started half a year ago without knowing about eating clean.

Say no to soft drink - I don't like soft drink all my life, so this won't be a problem for me.

Add more vege or fruits in your daily meals - this is what I have been lacking of, it's hard to do it if you are eating out all the time. At some point of the time, I don't even like vege and being very selective on the veges I put in my mouth. But I have add more vege in my meals now and it doesn't frustrate me.

Reduce alcohol intake - I have lay off alcohol as much as I can. I will only drink it if there's any occasions. I usually drink beer but maybe will go for wine as wine is healthier.

Lessen the sugar - I have sweet tooth, I like chocolate (but only take dark chocolate), I don't like sweets (weird, huh?), I don't usually add sugar in my coffee unless is damn bitter. I drink tea without sugar, I will order juices or any other beverage will less sugar now. I also will try to quit my daily 3-in-1 coffee intake as the sugar level in them are high.

Include more whole grain - I used to have cornflakes or cereals as breakfast but I have since change them to whole grains, wheat or oats. Try to opt for red rice and whole grain breads instead of whites.

Whole food - this is the most important part of eating clean. Always try to select food, even when you are out, that are for a whole. Cooking at home is the best because you know the ingredients that you are using. Avoid frying your food. Go for soup, stri-fry, steam. I have now in the 4th week of having as many soup dinner as possible.

Eating healthier is not a diet to restrict/cut off yourself from your sinful indulges. You have to be willing to take it as a lifestyle. As I said, dieting is only for short term but a lifestyle for long term. You have to practice one day at a time, in this case, one meal at a time to adopt eating clean. You still can have your favourites once in a while or having them in small portions.

If you are really going for eating clean and cooking it yourself but have no idea what is the recipes for eating clean, go here and here. There are more recipes to explores, so go dig some up and share it with me here =D Share your eating clean habits and lifestyle with me too!

PS: Sorry for the long winded and non graphics post LOL.

Short Hair NOW!

TGIF peeps! Just a short update on my hair. I have totally chopped off all my damage hair this time. Damages from bleaching, dying, reflexing, dying again and again... so bad. Keeping it short for now.

Not changing the colour of my hair because I still like this Mocha colour on me. So Leslie, my hairstylist suggest that we change the shape of my hair. Keep them short! It's a very refreshing look for me. Takes some ages away too XD

Before showing you my new look for this new year, just want to recap on how long my hair had grown out.
This was the previous lenght after my last visit to the salon. This was taken with Stephy baby in Singapore ❤

This was just a week before I chopped of my locks! It was taken during a friend's wedding dinner with Nicole who I have not seen since graduation!

And NOW, ***tadah*** SHORT HAIR!
I think the colour shade has gone darker this time eventhough I'm dying the same colour. Probably no more bleached damage hair. Happy!

Mocha Short (Curl) Hair

Well, I let my hair grew out after my last visit to the hair salon. It was August that I went for my next visit to the hair salon.

I felt a bit frustrated with the sloppiness of my hair then. My curly hair grew out, it look from top wavy, towards the end of my hair were all straight. The colour had wear off too.
Can you see my frustration? Oh ya, that's my favourite hair stylist, Leslie behind me =)
I really like the basic dark colour layering on top of my previous bleach hair. The effect makes one's dark hair stands out. I also did the reflexer to cover off the waviness of my upper part head.

Leslie also styled my hair ends curl. He also taught me how to do it myself using a hair straightener, so that I can style it myself at home. Do I look good/cute/nice in this style? Do you think that having curly/wavy hair looks more mature? I'm considering getting it perm this way next time.
I did a Mocha colour this time. It's a shade darker than my Hazelnut colour. I adore this colour even more because it brings out a bit of ash tone in it.
This is a week later and the colour stays on longer. Some sharing with all of you. Darker colour hair dye will stay on longer compared to brighter colour hair dye. If you use colour care shampoo and conditioner, the colour can last longer too.

Also, this is a tip that Leslie had share with me to choose the right colour you want for the right look you are going for. People with fine hair have cooler/ash tones. People with thicker hair have warmer tones. That's why for me, the Mocha colour could brings out ashier tone. Making my look more complete. Love it! Thank you Leslie!

Fast forward 3 months later, now. My hair grow so much longer but I can't stand the weight, length and maintaining it. I was having almost serious hair fall problem. So, I decide to cut off my many layers of damage hair. CUT! Cut them short!
Pardon the blurriness of this picture, but I just want to show you the length of my hair.

I did a laser scalp care treatment to help strengthen my hair root to easily absorb nutrition and reduce hair fall. Do you notice my hair colour did not fade much? Nice!
*Chop Chop* New short hair! Again Leslie styled the ends of my hair curl temporary. What do you think? Short curl hair better or long curl hair better?

The Body Shop Haul

Phew! I'm glad that a lot of shopping sales has gone now. I might have did some damages on my wallet by spoiling myself with a lot of body care products.

There was a mid-year sales for Malaysia, then there was The Body Shop Member Day's sales and there was more sales for The Body Shop Anniversary sales. How can you not go crazy?!!

Let's just start with the first round of haul I shop during their Member Day's sales. I really like they came out with the jumbo size body shower.
From left to right:
Divine Calm Heavenly Shower Gel is amazing! It's one of the few body showers that promises the smell of real Lavender and it's really makes you feel relax. I sleep very well every time I have used it.
Olive Shower Gel is one of my favourites because it keeps your skin moisturized and nourished. For lazy people like me you can skip body lotion and your skin will not dry up. I bought 2 bottles for keep stocking! Oppss... ;)
Bath Lily, they have come out with a lot of different colours now and makes me feel like getting all of them. BUT! I was in control, so I just bought the pale lavender for myself and the pink one for BFF.

Not long later, The Body Shop Anniversary came along. Everything was on 50% above discount. How can you resists?!
Clockwise:
Hemp Moisturizing Hand Wash for mom because she has bad allergies and she always needs to keep her hands moisturized. If not her hands will become dry and crack. So far, it's good for her. We should used soup free hand wash to keep our hands from drying up.
Rainforest Radiance Shampoo, I got this baby bottle to try out. Turns out it's really good after 1 wash. It gives back my damage hair moisture and shininess. Love it, I will get a bigger bottle next time.
Lip & Cheek Stain, I have always wanted to try out lip stains. Read a lot of good reviews on The Body Shop one and so I pop it into my shopping basket too. It does gives a reddish stain on my lips. Gives you the natural healthy look. One downside of it, is that it does transfer. You need to re-apply again after a meal.
The Lip & Cheek Stains makes me look less zombie
Bath Gloves are really good investments if you do not want to spend much on body scrubs. The gloves has tiny grinds that gives you the right amount of exfoliation. Keeps you skin glow and it helps blood circulation too. I was very attracted with the really nice Coral colour!
Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash is one of their best sellers. Bought it for bro to try out. Seaweed does keep your skin hydrated and reduce oil.
Kistna Eau De Toilette is for bro as well. I think a lot of us will at least get one of their fragrance series because it does smells good and it's very affordable.

Well, what do you know? My spending hit the rebate amount and I was awarded with a cash rebate voucher. I kept the voucher for awhile but in the end I decided to get their best selling Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Lotion. I love the size of it. It's not too big or too small. I have now used half of the bottle already. The smell is very irresistible, makes me smell nice LOL
After these few shopping spree, I have lock myself up from shopping. Nightzzzz....

Perlier Lavender Foam Bath

Have you heard of the brand Perlier? I didn't either, until I stumble upon it in a Sasa store during this Malaysia Mid-Year Mega Sales.

Perlier is actually from Italy, it has been establish for over 80 years. They have been manufacturing premier skin care of specialized therapeutic natural ingredients products. Most importantly they are against animal testing.
Recently, I am a bit obsess on body care with Lavender essence. It is true that Lavender can calms one's mood and mind. Anyways, this 500ml bottle of natural recipe of goodness Lavender caught my attention with *ahem* a 50% discount markdown.

I didn't know much about Perlier then but I bought it anyway. You know, there are lots of Lavender products in the market claiming it's 100% Lavender. When you smell it, it is not as how they have claim it, most of the time they smell 'fake'. It's quite difficult to find real Lavender scent and also good quality body care. I'm glad that I found Perlier.

It's Lavender scent is very similar with Crabtree & Evelyn's Lavender collection. As you all know, I have sensitive skin and very mild eczema, my skin will response with itch and redness. Therefore, I'm quite particular with the quality of body care I choose.

I don't like body shampoos that will makes you feel 'squeaky clean' after you bath. It will make my skin drier. I also don't like body shampoos that leave you ultra silky smooth skin after you bath. It makes me feel like I did not raise thoroughly. Is it me or do you feel the same too?

If you do, Perlier body foam does not makes you feel so! I used it with a body loafer, it gives me a velvety foam while I'm bathing and leaves me a layer of velvety smoothness after I bath. It smells so great that, you can sleep soundly through the night too.

I will not hesitate getting another bottle of this baby when I have finish up mine. I want to try out their Honey collection too. Their Honey collection is their best sellers. Can't wait to get my hands on them XD

Let me know have you tried this brand before? What do you think about it? Can anyone let me know where else can I get Perlier products other than Sasa? Thanks ;)

Hazelnut Chocolate Hair

Hey guys, I'm back with hair updates. I will keep this short becox I'm already very tired but I feel like updating you guys before I sleep.

Remember I didn't know what other colours I can dye on my hair after my Ash Green Hair? Well, well, well, we are going back to basics. Going back to dark colours =D

Before showing you pictures of myself with the then new hair colour (I dyed my hair before CNY), here's how the Ash Green colour had faded and my roots are obviously coming out!
Spot black roots
Faded colour
Tadah! There you go, my then *blogger failed* new Hazelnut Chocolate Hair! Nice or not? I didn't know getting back to basics can be this fun too. I love it!
Don't know if you notice but when lights hits my hair, there's still hints of Ash Green popping out. It's really very nice! I don't know why but the lighting doesn't do my hair colour justice, it's actually has a darker shade but the camera doesn't picks up the colour properly.
Darker colour tends to fade slower. This is a month after I dyed my hair, the colour had faded but it's not a big difference or obvious. Still looks very new and nice =D
I don't know why but my hair grows out fast. It's good news thought because I can keep changing more hair colour and hair style LOL. I did a trim last weekend and this is how the colour faded to. Faded to a light chocolate brown. Nice also hehe... *Tunic Sweater is from Uniqlo*

I also realize that if you bleach your hair, whatever colour, even dark colours you dye on, will comes out 95% of the colour that you want. Even if you don't bleach your hair, previously you dyed a light colour, the next colour picks up better too. You will still get 85% of the exact colour you want. Then when the colour starts to fade, you get different hair colours in 1 dye! Cool!

Results of FINE Hyaluron & Collagen

Today I have completed my can of FINE Hyaluron & Collagen! This will be a short and quick post because I'm not feeling very well but still want to share with you guys the result of me consuming exactly a month of collagen.

These are the changes I notice on my skin after consuming the collagen.
Better nails
Can you see how shiny my nails look? I didn't even need to paint any nail polish. My nails used to look quite dull and not shiny at all. Now it looks like a natural French Manicure :D
See the dots of scars which I got from my allergy. It actually look a lot worst 2 months ago (it used to be very red and looks like bee stinks) and I only start drinking collagen a month ago. So it shows how damn slow my scar recovery is. This picture was taken on the 3rd week of consuming collagen.
This picture is taken yesterday, the fifth week of consuming collagen is the third last day of drinking collagen. The dots of scars has lighten a lot! You can barely see some of it too. Yeah ^.^V My skin does not feel too sensitive either. Less redness and itchiness when they disagree with me.
Of course most of all how does my face look like now?! Fairer, very less acne, scar recovery level has gone up and most of ALL my skin is not flaky anymore! The acne scar on my chin has disappear too compare to a few weeks ago.

My skin colouration has turn better too. Notice the slight redness on my cheeks? Makes me look heather and younger looking *shy*

Do you know what does this means? It means that my skin is finally have quite the right amount of hydration. When your skin has enough of H2O, your skin will repairs scars faster, your skin feels supple, clearer and firmer too.

If you have already read my Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye, you will notice even I have panda eyes but the fine lines are not so visible and honestly, I was not using any eye products for a month before two days ago. I'm not sure is it the collagen that could maintain the fine lines being not so visible or I already have good under eye skin? Nah... I guess I'll credit the collagen LOL

I shall continue drinking collagen to remain un-age *hopefully* Nights peeps! Need my beauty sleep, sleeping early is one of the beauty secret too ;)

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye

Well, you know how much I like my Kiehl's Line Reducing and Eye-Brightening Concentrate and the results after using it, right?

Surprisingly, I have not purchase my second tube of it since last April. I wanted to try on other products and especially if you believe in living with samples #cheapskate Guess what? Other products does not come up as good as the Kiehl's one I have used.

Last Sunday I headed down to the branch at Pavillion to get my second tube. The moment I step in and I'm greeted with a very helpful and enthusiastic SA - Deric. He ask what am I looking for and I told him I wanted to get my second tube of the Line Reducing and Eye-Brightening Concentrate. However, he recommended me to use the Midnight Recovery Eye as he feels that my under eye condition needs this more.
Even the giraffe wants to have a try on the Midnight Recovery Eye
Deric pointed out something that I didn't notice of my under eye which is the dark circles. It's not just dark, it's quite purple-ish which makes me look like someone has given me a punch. Purple-ish means that the blood circulation around the eye area is not circulating properly.
Purple-ish under eye
Wearing specs making the dark circles look worst
Puffy upper eye lids
Specs makes the puffiness look worst too
Another thing which I don't like about my eye is the upper lid puffiness. It's just makes my eyes look droopy, smaller, sleepy and hiding my double eyelid! Most of all, I wear specs all the time and the specs just amplifies   the dark circles and puffiness even more!

I still have my fine lines due to aging FOL! But they are still less visible because of the previous tube I used. So, I'm still quite happy with it. Of course, hopefully with the Midnight Recovery Eye to strengthen my skin barrier and reduce the fine lines too.

Deric also explains clearly how does this tube of goody is going to help my dark circles, fine lines and puffiness. As you know our body replenish or repair our cells during the night while we are sleeping. The Midnight Recovery Eye works it's magic to strengthen our cells to restore our youth for us at night. It enhanced microcirculation therefore, reduces puffiness ans strengthens capillaries thereby minimized dark circles.

In short, not just our under eye area, our skin as well is damage by UV rays, environment and aging during the day. When night falls with the help of the Midnight Recovery Eye, it repairs and help to reinforce the skin barrier to retain moisture. In long term usage, our skin becomes healthier and could protect itself from the damages during the day.

I also love the ingredients in the Midnight Recovery Eye and the smell of it. It's very relaxing, probably helps you to sleep better.

Need I say more? I grab a tube of the Midnight Recovery Eye! 1 tube of goodness helping you to have younger looking eyes and repairs 3 of the most targeted problem of your eyes area ❤❤❤ max!

Before I leave the shop happily with my purchase, Deric is so sweet and nice. He gave me more samples that he thinks most suit my skin which I didn't even ask for samples! To think of it I feel a bit paiseh (shy). He even spent time to explain each of the samples and jointing down when and how I should use it. I will definitely come back more with Deric's professional service.

Unlike the other day, I went to the Midvalley branch the SA was quite rude and unprofessional. Sorry, it's a bit off the topic but I feel when we shop especially for skin care. It's very important that the SA is helpful and professional. Knowing the products well and helping you get the right product is very important to us consumers. It was before Xmas and I was looking for a gift for the Xmas dinner party gift exchange. I was greeted when I walk in the shop but the moment I told the SA I'm looking for something RM50 or above as a gift. He straight away gave me a booklet to brush me off, telling me all gift sets are shown in it and the well wrapped gift sets are at front. I was quite pissed off, I just walk out the shop.

OK, back to Deric the good SA, these are the samples he has chosen for me. The samples with scrabble writings are what Deric jointed down for me. D = Day use, N = Night use. How thoughtful!
Midnight Recovery Concentrate (for skin), Might get this for my next purchase
Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner and Centella Recovery Skin-Salve
Deric has chosen the Toner because he feels that my skin needs more hydration and the other one is a moisturizer for sensitive skin.
BB Cream with Vitamin C
The BB Cream helps correct skin tone irregularities, it has Vitamin C and also SFP 50++. It comes in Light and Fair colour tone. Light is for more pinker skin tones.

So next time do drop by Pavillion branch and look for Deric if you need some good recommendations of the products you are looking for.
